After Hurricane Sally hit our area, the devastation, particularly of fallen trees, was like nothing I had ever seen before! Our little neighborhood was pretty fortunate but there were piles of tree parts 8 – 10 feet high in front of every yard. And as several weeks passed by, the leaves on the broken tree parts turned brown and died. Everywhere you looked, you were reminded of the devastation.
But it was amazing how many trees DID survive! And also amazing was how the community came together to help each other out. So, at a time when everyone seemed to hate anyone with a different opinion, it was heartening to see the Good!
This painting was a product of the goodness I saw in others, as well as the fact that we were fortunate to still be surrounded by so much of the physical beauty of nature.
